Don't know if you are asking for an opinion or just making a statement.
If you're looking for an opinion, I'd say take your $150 and throw it in the street instead. Great ball for 50-60 games or so. I'd say definitely pick one up if you don't mind the upkeep. The cover stock on those is like a sponge and sucks up oil quickly.
If you were just making a statement..... Right on!

OK, your looking to buy a BWB or any big hooking ball someone is willing to sell you. Well if you don't get anyone to give you a "bite," try e-bay or an online store. Some one like bowlingball.com, buddiesproshop.com, or something like that. I'm sure there are other suggestion to online stores to check out too.Be very, very, quiet please, I'm hunting ten pins and it's easier when they're not spooked

Money spent on Hammer is not wasted. I don't think I'd waste my time listening to someone with such poor grammar^. I bowl with 2 people that own Cell's. One knows how to use his and the other doesn't. The one that knows how to can make it do whatever he wants..he holds a 202 avg. The other is my best friend and teammate. He holds a 168 avg. and doesn't know how to control the ball properly. They both have it drilled the same, but both have different levels of experience and styles of bowling.
Here's a few questions. What do you currently throw? What are the lane conditions you bowl on? What style do you bowl (cranker, tweener, stroker) and how many revs do you produce? Let's get some basics going so we can get an idea what you really need. If you just go buy a big hook ball, will it work or will you be wasting money?
I own a BWP and quite often, except for tournaments, it is too much. I'm between a stroker and a tweener. I just picked up a Storm Tropical Storm to work for drier lanes or when the lanes break down. I used it for league this past Sunday because most of the time it's just light oil anyway.
My BWP is drilled all purpose and it does exactly that. It will work on any condition, but you won't see as much on heavy oil as on medium or light.
My Tropical storm is a dry lane to light oil ball, but the way it's drilled it goes long and has tons of backend, even on slightly oilier lanes. It's drilled label leverage with no balance hole. It's got an extra ounce of weight that I could have removed for even more backend.
So there are some questions you should answer before just jumping into a ball.
If you still want a Bite or Cell or whatever, then go ahead. Nobody will stop you. Just consider that you may not need something so strong or expensive.16lb BWP

ok well maybe i did just jump to a conclusion and threw him threw a loop....my suggestion is still the cell just because the simple fact that i bought a cell and BWP on the same day and have bowled 200 games a piece on them and clean them and resurface as needed and the BWP has now lost performance, my new suggestion is...if you have a proshop operator that you trust then have him watch your style of bowling and how your ball now reacts and explain to him what u want your ball to do and he will suggest what ball would be best. Thats how i started throwing the cell......good luck to u..and srry for any misunderstandings

Well, I have a Black Widow and a No Mercy. Both have been retired and are currently at home, in the closet, sweating oil out every pore they have. Before you say anything about cleaning them, I did that after every night of bowling religiously. They just die, period, end of story, no resurecting them to the way they were when you first used them. The balls just do not retain the life you would expect of a high end ball in my honest opinion. Yes there are a few bowlers (and I do mean very few) that still use the BW along with the BWP here in my house and they love the ball, so did I too at one time. The problem is, they only worked for about 6 months before I noticed a drop in performance, then a short time later a distinct lack of perfomance. Ya, I know and heard about "It's the bowler" thing too. But I've been bowling long enough to know when it's me (95%), the ball (2.5%), or the lanes (2.5%).
So, in my honest opinion from exspierence with these balls, the BW and NM are good balls, for a short time. After a short while though (6 or so months of game use), they just start to lose their edge and decline rapidly there after. I personally expect more for my money in a high performance bowling ball and will not be purchasing either one again any time soon.
P.S. As for the Bite, I have only seen one and they like it, but it was new then (4 months ago). Wonder what they think of it now? May have to go look them up and just find out.Be very, very, quiet please, I'm hunting ten pins and it's easier when they're not spooked

I think people are so hung up on the balls that people see as big money/big performance that they overlook balls that are just as good. You could get a Hammer Anger Raw Hammer that will perform just as well and will last longer. It will also cost less.
I bought my Black Widow Pearl when I started league. So I've used it for 27 weeks on league (3 games each week). I've bowled probably 15-20 games with it for fun or practice. Then another 15 for tournaments. I have lost nothing in performance. I will have it resurfaced though at the end of the season and I'm actually going to do a cover change to try something different for the summer.
I also know that if I want the performance of the BW or NM series balls, I'm looking into the Raw line in the future because I'm not going to spend what I spent again.16lb BWP

My wife has the BWP (as well as the BW) and likes it very much. She bowls at the least 9-12 games a week with it in several leagues at different houses (she's a 200+ bowler). She told me she had noticed it didn't have the snap that it once had when she first got the ball and was thinking of trying to pull the oil out of it. So she decided to very carefully remove the oil by sweating it out. She was amazed at the amount of oil she had pulled out of it. She had worked on it for several hours and she still didn't finnish getting as much out of it as she wanted.
Also, in case your wondering, she has only had the ball for 3 months when she noticed a markable difference in performance. Strange thing is, she likes both the BW and the BWP? When I see her drill the pocket and leave solid 10's, solid 9's, and splits (8-10, 7-9), it's because the ball doesn't finnish. Yes she could do micro adjustments to fix that, but hey, how many of us can do this and still not call ourselves Profesional Bowlers? Most 190-200 bowlers are macro adjuster at best.
So, on nights like this, it makes for a long trip home from the bowling alley for me. I have to sit and hear how I was lucky and she was robbed on most of her shots, to which I reply "Yes honey, I'm sorry about that, I have no idea why it happens to just you and not me
?" Next time it will be "Yes honey, I'm sorry your BWP isn't as lucky as my Twisted Fury, would you like me to help you get a lucky TW like mine
?" I'll let you know how many days she wouldn't speak to me after I try that, LOL.

Let's see how about VENDETTA 44 MAGNUM. It has much lower RG and a much stronger reaction off the breakpoint.

Love the comment your proposing to your wife next time, I couldn't imagine saying something like that to my other half, she would definately hold everything she had over me for a long time. She only has been bowling for 2 years now (finger tip) but she already sounds like 80% of the bowlers out there, not enough oil, corner pins, and no carry at this house.
One evening, I was throwing my $75 Tropical Storm, this was the same night I threw the 792 with it, my wife was bowling at the same house, 6 pairs down and she only threw a 657 with a 9.4 FBA with her $200 BW. Talk about that drive home. I feel your pain Tenpin (nudges Tenpin and laughs too)

Well Jhays, it was an adventure for me last Thursday for sure, but not because of ball issues. My wife and I bowl on opposing teams Thursday. Ya I know, sounds odd, but I just started bowling again last year and she was already bowling on an established team and wanted to continue with them. The league is head to head with team points and with a handicap that is an even spot. Like in the case of my wife and I, she has a 207 average, me a 202, so she would spot me 5 pins.
Now to the point that I trying to build up to, her team took 40 out of 48 points on 4 games. I took 6 of thoughs 8 points her team lost from her. The other 2 came from a bowler on our team who was absent. She actually bowled really good and beat me series wise by 34 pins 899 to my 865 (176 1st game, had 2 splits inbetween 2 strings). Funny thing is, handicap only came into play on our 3rd game when she had a 257 and I a 256 (261), so with handicap I took the points.
Let me tell you a little about my wife and her girlfriend. They are very competative and they like to drink beer. Now I don't know about you, but when I averaged 180-190, I would on occasion get called a sandbagger. Do you see where this is going? Yes, for the first time while averaging a 200+, I was called a sandbagger for the whole last game. I couldn't have wished a game to end any quicker than then. We live about about a mile from the bowling ally and I can't tell you how long it felt like to get home that night. Every time we stopped at a light or a stop sign, I swear that time was going backwards.
I truely hope this is the last time I have to bowl against her this year. If we do, I hope my average magically goes to 212 or at the least even with hers. Because I'm here to tell ya bud. Alchohol, competative wife (and her competative girlfriend), and handicap of 5 pins does not mix for a good night for a husband.
So, being a smart*** about a bowling ball was farthest thing from my mind that night. I really didn't want to show up at the ER with a concusion and a shoe where it need not be. I laugh at it now and yes my wife is talking to me, but she still thinks I dropped thoughs pins on purpose when I struggled to get strikes and spares, LOL.Be very, very, quiet please, I'm hunting ten pins and it's easier when they're not spooked

Ok, I guess I'll throw my .02 in. I'm going to have to say that the most bang for the buck out right now is the Brunswick Ultra Zone. This ball is a monster! It has the same enMotion coverstock as the Twisted Fury but with a modified Phantom core so it starts up earlier than the Twisted.
In OOB condition I hated it. In fact I almost sold it for $40! I followed someone's advice and hit it with 2000 abralon and all I can say is WOW! Its a totally different ball. I layed it out with the PSA at 45deg and the best way to describe the reaction is hook/roll instead of a skid/flip. Its designed to blend out the pattern so carry down doesn't seem to be a problem.
The best part about the ball is the price. Bowlingball.com has them for $119.00 w/ free shipping.
