hey all looking for some opinions-

i recently started bowling again after a 10 year break. needless to say i am much older and have needed to make several adjustments. lol who says getting old is fun eh? anyway after much thought i purchased an IceStorm and have begun a very regimented "if i'm not shooting at 10- Ice" mindset for it. I drilled the ball exactly as drill my First balls so it feels the same in my hand. I rotate my hand 90 deg counter-clockwise (back of hand at 3oclock) and draw a mental line from the pin across my normal strike ball target (15 board) and position my feet where they need to be to make a straight line. I also stay higher in my approach but keep the speed and swing as close to "normal" as possible. I have seen an improvement overall in converting spares so hoping this is a wise choice.

What methods do you guys /gals use for attacking those pesky "shoulda fells" rofl

mccallum whai do is roll a ebonite v2 sweet at the 10 pin and just flatten the ball out.but if that dont work i throw a brnswick zone drlled straight up no hook at the 10 pin.some people throw the ball slow some throw it hard.just practice to find the way that is more comfortable for you.sammy malone

well i might stick with this... rofl i picked a 7-10! first one for me. shot hard and straight at the 7 and got the bounce! lol

and thanks sammy you've got me thinking i might have some room to balance a lil of both.

If bowling on a normal house shot and there's plenty of oil in the middle, i don't bother with changing balls spares. Even for the 10. For the 10, i move way left and at the release i tend to rotate my had clockwise a bit to straighten it out.. For all other spares I just adjust but stay more in the oil for less hook..

If the lanes are really harsh, then i'll go to a spare ball... I'm just much more comfortable throwing my regular ball, so don't like to change unless I have too..
