Second Week Chameleon pattern - No Mercy - Medium roll - played feet right (5 board) and shot 10 - 12. Much more consistent - pocket shots with only 2 opens - didn't get much carry any game, but did stay same line entire night, 3rd game, raised ball on stance to get more speed, and finally got 206.

Best thing about entire night, did not cross over head pin, and hit pocket 92% on first ball - had 9.1 FBA. Spares were much better, still have to have faith in 4 and 7 pins on this pattern.

Next week, moving to Viper - additional 3 feet oil I think I recall - so I shouldn't change my line much if any....Just speed adjustment.

3rd week PBA - Scorpion pattern - 150 -161 - 195. Played first 2 games outside feet 7 and mark 8-10 - 3rd game played inside left 3 - mark 20-18 Same ball - No Mercy drilled pin above ring finger. Played with speed changes - getting a feel for the reaction - neither line had good reaction - I only used a green scuff pad - didn't have time to go 800 grit which is what I wanted to use. Forgot to stop at store and get some. (I know where I'm heading tomorrow....

tues singles

5th week of my singles league...178/235/224 637 series, throwing my old reliable Ebonite V2 Power.

Came in the first game after a rough weekend at the Lilac City Tourney in Rochester, NY. Maybe I was a bit too amped up to be back home on the house shot. I felt like I was throwing the ball too hard as most of my shots were hitting a little light.

Second game I stopped being stubborn and moved a little left, about the 17th board rolling it out to around 10, got a little more hand in the ball. Started with the first 6. Picked the 3-6-10 in the 10th frame.

Third game was about the same as the 2nd but because I've been playing around with my thumb hole because of the summer swelling I lost the ball. Fell right off my hand and right into the channel. Made the spare of course but it turned out to be a 30 pin gutterball.

I went to practice and started out good with a 257 with my game breaker.
then I started to experiment. and had a 191 and a 203 with a Hammer Hawg bowling ball .
I did not want to trash my game breaker cause its a soak er and I don't want the surface to dye in practice.
well I ended up average 220 for 5 games the last 4 I used the hawg.

Lets just say that Viper is not a friend of mine. I think that there was lots of bleed through from the house pattern. From what I have seen, with my revs and ball speed I should be able to line up 17 right of center and throw out to 10 and the ball come back. Well it did, occasionally. So then I moved right and it was so touchy. My second game it just kept going brooklyn luckily I carried, and got a 4 bagger. I pulled everything out of the bag too. Black widow , black widow pearl, X-factor, street rod pearl, and a columbia 300 Panic. So here are my fabulous scores, 126 - 168 - 143, 437. That was tough. Am ready to get back from vacation and bowl on chameleon, I averaged 180 on it a few weeks back. Just thankful I dont have to bowl on the PBA Open pattern next week.

I went to practice at a different center tonight I averaged 211 for 6 games.
I was Up and Down 246 high and 168 low - Up and down
I never really felt confident

I was 196 over for 5 games using my ebonite one this month, in our monthly scratch tournament. I had games of 225+214+215+289+253=1196 with the one. This is the same bowling ball I used last month. This ball seems to work well playing inside, they must have shorted up the oil, because I was allot further left than normal, there did not seem to be much hold, but there was some swing area. I played the lanes as inside line at about the 14th board at the arrow with a swing to about 11th board at the break point.
I had a little margin, but I had to keep the bowling ball slow and let it roll off my hand.

My ebonite one drilling layout is drilled just like my hammer black widow pearl.

2nd week Scorpion - played feet left 10 - target board 17-20 right. Firm shot, 189, 215 ,219 Still didn't carry well, but learning the patterns. No Mercy as previous week, kept ball tight and firm, no outside in attempts this week.

Longer patterns - move left don't cross as many boards, shorter patterns, move right down and in.
