-really, really crappy night. corner pins out the whazoo, missing several didn't help either. another one of those not there mentally nights. enough said.

What a frustrating night. Couldn't carry anything. 204(8/10 split in 10th), 216(clean), 197(6/7/10 in 9th)...617.

Another frustrating outing. 84 scratch bowlers and 17 600 series in the league!! 170(4 opens all splits), 184(2 opens/splits), 167(2 opens/splits)....521

Decided to try my new Defiant tonight. Ball hits hard but I must stay firm with it...can't let up on the ball at all. 204(2 opens), 233(1 open), 209(2 opens)...645.

Used the Defiant again last night on a different pattern. 244(7/10 in 1st frame), 237(flagged the 7 in the 7th), 180(flagged a 10, 8/10, 3/6/9/10 and 4/10)....661. Got tired in 3rd game and didn't keep up the speed.

2/24 TGIF League


- 268 - 244 - 211 = 722 Series, 72 game average 233.43


- was a very interesting night. the league was the "guinea pigs" for the new lane machine the center received today and is trying out since the lease runs out on the current one next month.

- was EXTREMELY slick with barely a wrinkle on the backend, even with my Brick the first game...basically had to move 5 boards right with my feet and move up on the approach almost a foot or more and directing it straight toward the pocket.

- the machine is a Brunswick Envoy that I need to do some research on as I think we have only the second one built in the country. it cleans and oils on the way down but doesn't put down any "reverse" oil on the way back so it's laid down heavier in the first pass which makes it extremely slick up front.

- had a scary moment in the 5th fram of game three as i ended up stepping on something in my slide causing me to stick and unfortunately step over the foul line a couple of steps for a foul. whatever it was i stepped on left a black skid mark on the lane and on the bottom of my shoe. after a quick clean up of the lane and my shoe, somehow I was able to make the spare. However, it did leave me sort of "gunshy" the rest of the game and was able to pull out a 211 game.

Used the new Defiant tonight. 1st 4 frames 10 pins, then 7/10 split struck next 5 then 10 pin for 222. 2nd game ball started breaking as soon as I let go of it, several splits including the 7/10 again for 153. 3rd game decided to take the heads out of the game by lofting the ball for a 255. 630 series but am still learning what I need to do with the ball!

Tuesday night scores. 195(7/10 split in 1st), 222(chopped 3/6/9/10 in 4th), 190 4/9 in 4th)...607. Hit the pocket all night but couldn't carry!

3/2 TGIF League


- 193 - 233 - 233 = 658 Series, 75 gamea average 232.87

- started off with my Brick, but just didn't feel comfortable for some reason. switched to a new ball the third frame of game two that I got via telephone with the Hammer Booth down at the USBC Open Tournament down in Louisiana. The ball is an Overseas release from Hammer called the "Arson Death "P", a pearl version of the Arson.

- ball is very impressive. I needed to strike out the last game to tie the game after their anchor only got 7 pins on the fill ball after a spare. was able to come through with three solid shots in a row that all carried for strikes. we ended up tying the last game and taking 6 of 7 points possible, and currently we are in first place after week 25 of 32.

- 220 - 198- 210 = 630 Series, 3 game average 210.00


- a new 16 week travel league between 2 local centers that are finally starting to work together. the league rotates week to week from one center to another, which should prove enlightening to say the least.
