  • Brackets Spreadsheet

I've seen people looking for some kind of freeware brackets programs, but not finding any.
So I started work to see if I could come up with a spreadsheet for doing Brackets.
I've came up with a sort of proof of concept prototype. But it's a start and has given me acouple of ideas to expand on.
If you'd like to see the prototype, you can get it here.It only does one bracket at the moment.

I like this - I almost bought a bracket program for my laptop, but wow, how expensive. I currently do brackets for 2 leagues and do them on paper, too time consuming. Are you planning on adding calculations: total amounts, payout percentages, etc. If not, that's ok, I think I can modify it with the calculations and even add in random() calls for bracket players, not sure how to ensure 2 people if in multiple brackets don't face each other in more than 1 bracket in first rd.

Let me know when you get multiple brackets.

I had to get the opensource for Excel - which you can get here. http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=582358

Just make sure you get correct language version

At the moment I'm working on getting the functions(Forumlas) all working right.
Like for making the random pairings, also I want to work in a option for pairings
      by average if I can.

Once I get those down, I'll add in calculation for the monies.

I'm also going to try and have a Input page where the names, score, etc. can be put in and have it automatically fill in the bracket diagram for printing.

Once I have it working for one bracket, I'll add in some more.

On average about how many brackets do you have a night? How many players and how many brackets do they get in?

My Wednesday night is the biggest, usually 12 - 15 brackets, and 10 in each. We get in with $10 and split 80/20 for top 2. most of the time some of them split if they are in finals (game 3) - but there are some that are greedy

My other nights are usually 4 - 6 brackets, $5.00 entries, and 10 in each. I also run a doubles bracket on Wednesday night, pick cards for partners, usually 20 players paired up and no handicap.

I don't run handicap brackets - if people are bowling for money, they need to go straight up in my opinion, and most on Wednesday evenings are 200 or better anyway averages.

Let me know if you need some help. I already started putting calc's in the one I downloaded and converted to Excel format. I found the calc routines for random pairings also.
