Here's one a new undrilled Venom. They put it on the haus macchine with the diamond wheels. Look at all the flat spots.

That's not caused by the Haus machine .

Thats a new ball with a surface blem from the factory, that slipped through quality control.

When you put a ball on the diamond wheels, it will reveal any flat spots on the ball (The shiny areas).

They put this one in the haus at the pro shop before drilling it and it showed all these flat spots. So they left it as you see it for a display.

wonder if they left it on the Hause machine that it could get rid of the flat spots and make the ball "round" again and still have the ball be legal for use after they were done with it?

Sure they they could , you'd have grind a lot of ball off for one not to be legal.

Flat spots for the most part are not that deep, so it wouldn't take that much off before it was fully round.

Plus as long as you got them out of the track area, it wouldn't matter if you left some in the other areas.
