My Nitro R2 Split!

Well darn this is the 2nd ball I've had split on me. It was just sitting here, I think I even heard it when it did it. I never baked it or left it in the car or had a quick temp change.

It was my best benckmark ball, I've had it for 2yrs and it was still working good.

Thought I'd take a look inside it, so I took a screwdriver and a hammer cracked it in half. My god what a stink it made! the core had this strong chemical smell.
Thought I'd throw up.

You'd think after 2 yrs it would have out gassed all of the fumes.

Now I have to figure what to replace it with (plus save up some $$$)

wow man, sorry to hear of your misfortune. So weird how a ball will just split on you like that. Good luck with your $$ saving and hopefully won't happen again!

ive had a couple of storm balls split like that.. but probably because of heat, but not excessive.. one was about 5 years old and the other about 6 months old.. both though had solid shells down to the weight block (no white filler).. fortunately, ive never been fond of storm balls.. lol

Funny thing about this is we were just talking about balls cracking and splitting at the pro shop a few days ago.

Plus I've been trying to get rid of some older balls that have been laying around here. (Just not the ones I was using!! darn it!)

I just gave away 2 to youth bowlers, one got my quantum midnight blue.
I had bearly used it, he got it redrilled and started racking up strikes with it.
It worked better for him than it ever did for me.
The other was my girlfriends 12 pd El Nino wrath, guy got it for his kid then his wife seen it and it fit her and she took it. Shoot I wanted the kid to get it, like seeing the kids faces light up when they get that fancy hi tech ball.

I've expecting my VIZ-A-BALL spare ball to blow apart. Its cracked around all the holes.
