  • String Pinsetter - Funny if you've never seen it..

I thought I had posted this after I came back from France, but I'm not able to find the post.. so I'm posting it now.. This is pretty unbelievable the first time you see it.. It's a pinsetter that has a string attached to the top of each pin. It uses these strings to pick up the pins and set them back down.

Here's a video I shot. This is in a center just outside of Hagenau France, near Strassburg. You may need Apple Quicktime to view it.

      re: string pinsetter

      BT,

that video is something else. I had to rub my eyes to make sure I was seeing what i thought I had seen. My belly hurt and got cramps in my ribs from laughing so hard. I don't know if I would want to bowl with that pinsetter. You were there, how well did it work, was it quick and accurate? or was it a bust?

P.S. I downloaded the vid to share with my bowling buddies.

The pinsetter itself worked great.. sometimes you had to wait a 30 seconds or so if the strings get tangled.. it'll bob the pins up and down to get them to untangle..

The only problem was pin action, as you can imagine.. and forget about messengers.. lol.. It's fine for a group outing where no one is really "skilled" at bowling and they are not used for leagues or tourneys.. But they are A LOT cheaper to run.

I know what you mean.. I nearly keeled over from laughter right there in the center when I first realized what I was seeing.. lmao
