recap & 4th and final league

so, after starting my season with a 535, 667, and 606. i decide to bowl a 670 in my Sunday Night Cosmic league. 216, 241, 213. so, now i need to get my tuesday night league average up so i can try to hold over a 200 avg in all 4 of my leagues. it's easy to bowl 4 leagues for me because i don't use my thumb. actually, i throw a back-up ball. everybody that sees how i throw the ball for the 1st time is amazed at how coinsistant i am, and at how many revs i get and how powerful my ball is. i just tell them that i've been doing it for about 4 yrs and started out with a 6 lb ball and just worked my way up to 16 lbs. when i first joined a league, i threw a 12 lb Columbia Scout and only had a 154 avg., that was 3 yrs ago. anyway, i get to bowl my tuesday league tonight, and hopefully i can pull my avg up a bit.

Since I work 2nd shift Mon. to Fri., I joined a Sunday Vegas Mixed league. Everyone gets to go to Vegas in June for a tournament and vacay. It's my first time back to bowling in 4 or 5 years. I bowled Junior leagues for 7+ years, now this is my first adult league.

I bowled a 147, 180, and 189 the first week...not bad just getting back into it. I got lucky I suppose. My second week was embarassing. I bowled 159, 164 and fell apart for a 117.

I bought a new ball Tues (18th) and tried it out the 19th. Hammer Black Widow Pearl. I got a few tips from my pro shop guy to get myself working on the basics again...approach, aim, and spare shooting. First 4 games ranged from 140 to 190. 5th game was a nice 259. First frame was a spare, then 7 strikes, a spare and a strike. Finished the 10th with a 5 and open...lol. It was fun having a high game again. Went for a 6th game, but ripped open the inside of my thumb where I have a callus (sp?). So now I can't bowl and have to let it heal until league come Sunday.

My previous high game is 256 league and 278 practice.

With the tips I received and the practice I got, I think I'm ready to get my average back up to the 180+ mark. The new ball will help as well. My old Reaper and Everclear did a find job back in the 90's and early 2000's, but it's time to get into something better...GO BWP!!!

Was away bowling TSN in Calgary so just catching up on things, actually my season has started well, averaging 208+ in both leagues, shot 701 last week, so far so good. Wanting a ball for dry lanes, love to hear opinions on whats best - currently use Hammer
        My BOWLING TRACKER stats ...
        Monday Peterson: Cathy Harvey
        Thursday Night Mixed: Cathy Harvey
No one ever won by making excuses. I work hard to bowl good, then work harder to bowl better.
