202/135/186 13/13/10/2 Line. 135 is my worst game since 11/17/09. I mentally broke down game 2 and had 10 open frames overall. An abysmal 3rd week in a row to say the least. Average down to 191 thru 15 games (5 weeks)

207/243/204 654 Series 20/11/2/2 line. Second game I XXXX'd out to win it for our team by 15 pins. Nice bounce back night from the continuous nightmare that was the past 3 weeks. Finally got my release and speed down pretty well. Only 2 open frames on the night both being pocket 7-10 splits. Some bad luck there as I could have made a run at decent run at 700. 195.50 Average through 18 games (6 weeks)

Well week 8 nothing special, I got my Dude back and the shorter span felt a lot better. I used it for the first 2 games and half the 3rd.

I figured considering how the Paranoia rolled and how I knew the Dude rolled before. I should be able to start with the Dude and then switch to the Paranoia later when I had to move left.

The first half of the 1st game had to get use to the Dude with the adjusted grip. While even though I wasn't hitting good, I feel it was the right choice though.

My teammate was rolling his Paranoia and it was too jumpy coming out off the fresh oil and he was struggling with it. But as the night rolled on it started to even out and his scores went up.

Got the feel of the Dude again the other half of the 1st game and started striking. Third game I waited too long to make the change to Paranoia, But it looked okay when I did. so I think I had the right idea.

We'll see next week.

192/186/211 589 Series with a 12/15/5/1 line.

Began the night throwing the same line I finished last week with and it worked for a moment and then my release went all out of wack again. Lanes insanely dry as we moved into game 3, started throwing as hard as possible outside the 5 board and was able to salvage a 200 game to end the night. The team we bowled struggled big time (one bowler shot a 399 series) and we were able to take all games and totals 7-0 on the night and back to .500 for the 1st third of the season at 28-28. 194.54 Average thru 8 weeks (24 games)

Week 10

Okay, tonight was interesting.

We had lost our 4th bowler, actually he hasn't been here from the start . He had his foot worked on and the Dr. kept telling him to wait week after week and then he told him not to bowl. but we got a new bowler tonight he's just coming back after 20yrs so had to establish average.

(Which seems to be a trend lately, most of the new users on the forum say the same thing I'm back after 20yrs.)

The real interesting thing is the oil machine broke down, it did the first 6 or 8 lanes and something happened (I didn't hear what) and they couldn't oil the rest of the lanes. So we had to bowl on whatever was out there.

With the machine breaking down, That makes me think even more I was right that something has been off with how they have been oiling.

Surprisingly our lanes were fairly consistent at least for me. I used the Dude all night and it was pretty predictable, I wasn't striking a lot but I keep it clean (got knocked out of the brackets by 1 pin).

My teammate that has the Paranoia too,was really struggling with it. He needed to switch balls, but he didn't. He usually does switch, but for some reason he just stuck with it.

Watching the guys beside us, the high rollers would only shoot one high game and the rest would drop off. Like the 221 ave. he shoots 244 game one, 3rd game he's down to 168. Most of the other 200+aves. had only one 200+ game with the rest in the 160s 170s.

I missed two weeks of bowling in my primary league, my team members do not show up consistently and we're on the bottom, that makes me sad. You can't win without a full team, there is a rhythm to bowling and if its a cadence of 8 then I need 8 to be there to bowl, when the teams are off balance, it throws everything off for the opposing team and for us. I did bowl fairly well, I had been struggling with the Scandal, and then started using it in 2 of the three leagues, it was working everywhere but the primary league. I threw it yesterday and it did well, I think I just increased my confidence in throwing it. yesterday, I threw a 200...149...and 192....the 149 game, was a lot of splits........but I moved left, moved a board or two left and got it together.

Well the slump continues. We were on the end pair this time and the thing to see this time was all the greek churches (the 4-6-7-9-10) that got left. We figured it up, between the two teams we left 15 greek churches, four of them mine. There was also some 4-6-7-9's where the 10 pin just fall off. The lanes beside us had a few also I noticed, But I don't know how many.

My teammate was the only one that shot good (673) and even he left the G.C. and the 4-6-7-9. He was striking a lot, but the sparing splits wasn't happening. It's seems like we're in tweener hell at the moment, those of us with similar styles are struggling. The speed and rev guys are doing okay though. It's about time for them to change the shot like they usually do around thanksgiving. So maybe that will get something going.

We never heard what happened to the lane machine, other than they scrambled around to get a part to get it going the next day. I still think something isn't right with it. You can roll a ball down the lane and it only comes back with a few little strips of oil here and there on it. Like the oils patchy on the lane.

But whatever the team has surprisingly started winning more, we got a new guy and the other teams have just happened to be struggling worse than us for a change.

210/245/190 645 Series with an almost identical line from last week 20/9/5/2 just one less split.
No ten pins tonight! Game 2 I had the front seven XXXXXXX and then proceeded to job it in the 8th frame opening with a 72. Finished fairly strong though. Fell apart game 3 but miraculously we took all 7 for the 4th week in a row when our opponents' anchor bowler missed a 5 pin in the 10th frame and we won game 3 by 13 pins. 28-0 the past 4 weeks and our season win loss record sits at 47-30 after beginning the season in the cellar.

212/201/198 611 Series with a 20/9/5/3 Line.
Throwing 20 strikes tonight and only shooting a 611 is pretty bad. Couldn't string anything more than XXX together with splits arriving at the worst of times. My teammate on the other hand went off with a 767 series. He had the front 9 game 2 and left a 10 pin that he couldn't convert. Then game 3 he had the front 10 and came in a hair high on his 11th ball and left a 4 pin. We took all 7 and are 21-0 the last 3 weeks however it wasn't enough to win the 1st 3rd of the season. Still we sit at 40-30 on the season which is a good spot to be headed into the 2nd 3rd of the season.

Week 13 Well a slightly better night, finally hit 600 this season.

yup finally threw 600 in my cut throat league, my first game was weak, 167 left 2 makeable spares, regrouped and threw 222/215 for a 604, hope with the 134 handicap it's enough for 3rd place in the inhouse tournament

it actually paid 2nd place.............yay !!!!

USBC Chico/Paradise Mixed Tournament 11/19/16

Doubles- 223/234/237 694 Series

Singles- 267/243/171 681 Series
Never bowled at Tall Pines in Paradise before. But the lanes were good and the oil patterns were good. Had to throw slower than I'm used to all morning but I was getting carry like I've never experienced bowling in Chico. It's no wonder they hold these tournaments more often in Oroville and Paradise because honestly the Chico lanes and oil patterns are shit quality compared to what's available not so far away.
I hit pocket flush and left a ringing 10 pin on my 11th ball of game 3 in doubles missing a 700 by 6 pins. Then I fell apart late in game 3 of Singles opening in the 9th and 10th frames throwing my worst shots of the entire tournament. I couldn't mentally dominate and reach that 700 series that's been out of reach since February.
Doubles partner shot 615 putting us at 1309 scratch and after adding in our handicap I'm hoping we place and cash at least in doubles. Singles I don't think is going to be good enough.

205/234/256 695 Series with a 23/8/3/2 line. 9 in a row at one point between games 1 and 2.
We couldn't catch a break though and lost them all because our opponents anchor went off with a 184/258/279 721 Series. I've missed rolling a 700 series 3 times in 4 days. Missing it by 6 pins, 19 pins, and 5 pins. Still, highest game and series I've shot this season.

199.21 Average thru 39 games (13 weeks) which is not far off my 2015-16 Season finish of 201.80. Gotta stay locked in next week.
