Your approach to the foul line is crucial when Learning How To Bowl. This is where it all happens. If any part of this is wrong you will not be in time and the ball will not be delivered properly. Just remember that 90% of your game happens before you deliver the ball. Once it is released you no longer had control. So lets start off on the right foot (No pun intended) It doesn't really matter if you take 3, 4 or a 5 step delivery as long a you are comfortable with your delivery. I try to teach new bowlers a four step approach and to walk and not run. Right handed bowlers will be taking their first step with their right foot. I teach to keep that foot a half of a shoe in back so you have to lead with your right. Don't stand with your heels and toes aligned. All this is reversed if your are left handed.
