  • males wrecking female weekly stats!!!

Cant you fix this? The female weekly stats are pretty much useless because so many males here are too stupid to notice their blunder. I've messaged a few of them to no avail.

This has been a on going problem. For it to be really fixed everyone must take the time to check that the right gender box is checked.

Though I think few may be doing it deliberately, if their checking weekly high's they'd know they are on the female list and are deliberately not fixing it , plus when you make a stat sheet you have to pick one. It could be they checked the wrong one because they didn't know the symbols.

I've tried thinking of some fix's but all have their own problems.

The Admin may be able to go in and change them himself, but some female names look like male names.(Like Sam used instead of Samantha).

The gender could be set to male by default, but then you'd get females who didn't change the gender to female and wonder why they never show up in the highs.

If you did away with the gender in the lists and go with just the highs , it would be mostly all males on the list all the time.

Could get rid of the highs list all together, then everyone loses out.

Here's a list of the ones I see at the moment that should be changed-

    friday goodwill joe pachuta
    Sat. Night Mixed Michael Lukosius
goodwill league ray cusack jr has changed to a male
    progressive Rick Hartung
    grayson mixed league stephen kiper
    Exective Metro Classic Mike DeHart
    Brunswick Bowlers Bruce
    Robins PBA Experience Mark Eblen

      An idea

Is there a way to change the way one chooses the male/female symbol to the writen version of choosing? It would make it a lot easier for thoughs who are not able to find the right symbol for their gender, even though they may reconize they're not on the right list anyways.

As for checking the list, I really only check it every now and again (I like to look for my friends that may be there). So if some of the guys are using the female side to make the list, that's perty cheesy I think. Shows they like to take the credit away from the ladies that deserve it more so. So man up gents and change your settings, it's not that tough to do really.
Be very, very, quiet please, I'm hunting ten pins and it's easier when they're not spooked

Well not knowing how the forms are set up in vBulletin. I would think you could add Male-Female titles to the radio buttons. That would help for those that don't know the symbols.

I don't have the type of access to check it or to change the stat sheets directly. It's stuff only the admin can do.

Male by default would be a much better setting. If they fail to change it to female it hurts "themselves only" for their stupidity. Right now it hurts ALL females for their stupidity.

Female stupidity???? If I remember right, the men seem to have the problem the correct symbol. It doesn't take a genious to figure out if your on the correct side of the of the list or not. I also don't think the woman should be blamed or held responsible for "male stupidity." Just own up and change the symbol, perty simple I think.

You read my statement totally incorrectly. Certain males are stupidly wrecking the female weekly stats because they are not clicking the right button. If you make it "male" by default hopefully those stupid people will now be set as males so no harm. If there is a stupid female here at BT it will really only hurt herself if she fails to change it to female. Right now the stupid males that fail to switch hurt ALL the females when they want to print out a high score sheet. So making it male by default might help weed out the few males that can't click properly.

                Too Stupid?

Maybe they are not stupid. Maybe they don't know they are Males.

No, I am perty sure I read what you had writen correctly. What you didn't understand, is the fact it does not take a lot of thought to figure out you are on the wrong page with a 50-50 choice. Just go back and fix the problem if your on the wrong on page. Don't place the burden on the women to make the correct choice then call them stupid if they don't.

The only way to actually make this a little easier for the men, is to change from symbols to a writen format. To be honest though, the men on the wrong page either do not care or want to be spoilers and your not going to be able to fix either one of thoughs problems.

Also, if you had writen this part of your statment "Right now it hurts ALL females for their stupidity" to "Right now, men hurt ALL females with their stupidity" I may not have thought you were saying all women are stupid.

What... do you have some chip on your shoulder? I could be just as nasty as you by pointing out that you can't spell "writen" even with access to the spell checker they have on this board.

I was defending the women and placing the burden on the women because the men (or certain ones) seem incapable of handling the burden. I felt the ladies here must be smarter than the guys here. However if you are an average example then the ladies here sure seem to be snottier than the guys. So take a deep breath and give some constructive help so the gals here don't get shortchanged on their scores. I think male by default would work better than what we have now.

And the guys who don't care or are doing it on purpose... I think the people who run this site could take a name like...say... Frank... and force him to check male and threaten to revoke his access if he doesn't.

I'm going to lock this thread, because it look's to be getting too personal.

Some constructive suggestion's have been made in this thread.

1.- Change the Male/Female symbols to the written word's
                        Example: Male[ ] Female[ ].

2.- And/ Or also make Male the default setting on the stat sheets.

3.- Contact those males on the female list and have them change their
                        gender to the correct one.

4:- Have the Admin go in add manually correct them.

5.- Get rid of the weekly high's list altogether.

Here's a list of the ones at the moment that should be changed-

                        friday goodwill -joe pachuta
                        Sat. Night Mixed -Michael Lukosius
                        progressive -Rick Hartung
                        grayson mixed league -stephen kiper
                        Exective Metro Classic -Mike DeHart
                        Brunswick Bowlers -Bruce
                        Robins PBA Experience -Mark Eblen

Out of almost 4000 members, 7 members with the wrong gender is pretty good.

So let's give the Admin a chance to address this.

#1 has been done.. good idea. thanks

I've also changed those you listed and several more that I found. One however was "TGIF - Dusty". I changed it but if it's wrong, I apologize.

I really can't think of anyway of preventing someone from intentionally selecting the wrong Gender, other than monitoring the issue and threating to ban for continued abuse. Therefore, our new policy will be 2 warnings, then a temporary 1 week ban, then permenant ban of the user that the stat sheet is attached to.
