  • What is (± Avg) refering to?

    I have a question. in the personal stats. it has the section (± Avg) with numbers like -33, +9, -10 etc.
    Just what and how are those numbers arrived at?
    I assumed they were pins over or under average, but I tried every way I can think of to get those numbers. But I cant match those.

    That's the number of pins over or under your series average..

    say your average is 200, then your series average is 600. If you bowl a 650 series, then you'll see +50 in that column.. if you shoot a 575 series you'll see a -25 there.

    High Series: 806
    High Games: 300 (3), 299 (2), 11 in a row

      That is what I figured.
      But I think thats being based on the wrong average.
      Its basing it on your new current average, when it should be using the current average you came in that night with.
      Thats what threw me off, I just happened to figure it out after I posted the question.

      Using the last 2 weeks I bowled as a example-

      8 10-Oct-06 11 & 12 230 175 207 21 612 / 4024 204.00 191.62 +37
      9 17-Oct-06 1 & 2 244 214 235 24 693 / 4717 231.00 196.54 + 103

      Here it says I was a 103 pins over this is based on the new curr. average of 196.54
      196.54x3= 589.62 693-589.62=103.38 thus "+103".

      Pins over average most of the time is figured from the average you went into the night with.
      here that would be the 191.62 from the week before.
      191.62x3=574.86 693-574.86=118.14 thus "+118".

      At least thats how things like say the "75 or 100 pins over" awards are based on.
      the current average you had that night, not what your average went too after that.
