Is there a way to combine your league stats and practice games - I created new stats for all 3 leagues and my practice sessions, I want to see an overall stat? Is this possible?

Hey, great thread!
I sent in a suggestion about this. Maybe some discussion would give an idea of how many people are interested in this feature. I'd love to see a check box on the stat sheet to combine stats. If you don't check it, there would be no combined stat sheet, if you check more than 1, it could compile stats for the multiple sheets.
The only way I could figure out so far without an added feature would be to create an additional stat sheet and re-enter everything. The problems with that are the inflation of the database size, and the duplication of stats for weekly highs, etc.The guy who said "Winning isn't everything" probably never won anything

This was my first thought to see where I "stand". I've been around 199 - 205 for the past 2 years, and finally found a guy that is working with me over the past summer. I feel more confident in my game and relaxed. We set a goal of 215 this year overall - I shoot in 2 every week leagues, and 1 mixed sanction for fun with the wife every other week. Thus far, I'm 220 overall, but I have to enter all my scores into an excel sheet to keep track so it's more work each night I bowl. Hope this feature becomes available!!!

Why not just create a tracker for all of them? May take some extra work for you to fill out a second tracker every time you bowl, but it should work out ok that way I would think. At least you'll see it all together that way.Be very, very, quiet please, I'm hunting ten pins and it's easier when they're not spooked

I could do that, but there are two drawbacks from our kind and gentle host's perspective. One, it would inflate the size of his storage liability, especially if a large number of people started double posting scores. And two, it posts your scores twice in the weekly high games/series listing, making the high score listing suspect, and less meaningful. The guy who said "Winning isn't everything" probably never won anything

re: practice games
I personally would not want to keep track of my practice games for when I practice I do not shoot for "score". I practice down and in, track shot, playing deep inside for first ball. I shoot these lines whether or not the "shot" is there for those lines, this way if I have to play any of these lines in league I am comfortable doing so and have the confidence I can hit that mark. I also practice at least one game of spare shooting, practicing the pins that give me the most trouble.
A PBA member whom I know a long time taught me a long time ago that when you practice you should repeat the things you are not proficient at. It makes no sense to line up on your "A" game and shoot strike after strike. You are already good at that. You should practice what you are not good at because that is the stuff that is keeping you from being good. Very sound advice from a very good bowler.
Just passing the knowledge on like it was passed on to me, so please don't take this personally anyone.
If you still want to keep track of your practice games that is fine, but the nature of "practice" implies working on things we aren't good at to facilitate improvement. I guess that is why there are many flavors of ice cream, to each his own.

I agree totally. I was not looking for tracking practice so much as a compilation of stats between my 4 leagues. I can get around it if the option doesn't become available here, of course. Just adding up total pins and dividing by total games, after all

Thats how I did it when I had more than 1 league posted, except I used a calculator to do my calculations
.
I think it would be neat to record your strikes, spares, splits, opens, and first ball count to see what you averaged through the year. Right now I'm using a record book to keep track of that. I also use it to keep track of lane conditions, what happened that I thought was odd, and what I did to fix or should (might) have done to do better. And whatever else I think may help me out in the future.Be very, very, quiet please, I'm hunting ten pins and it's easier when they're not spooked

Very well put (presence) - I have practice sessions on a sports shot - and other practice sessions that I don't track. I understand the calculations for season stats overall, and I agree - making the database too large may make the site slower - I tried my Palm tracker, but it's lacking of features - until I found this site, I like the breakdown.

BTW - TenPin - Love your tag line - we ALL have had those nights. Since I switched to a (Tropical Storm) but Pin drilled over ring finger to get farther roll - I have had many 9 pins causing me to walk funny (lol). I used to throw a Wizard and Black Widow - until I found this hard finishing ball.

Ya, I know what you mean about the 9, I left 3 or 4 in one game the other night. As for the ten, I leave a bunch sometimes and it's mainly my pocket entry being weak. It's been better of late, but sometimes frustrates me to no end when I throw what appears to be a good ball and leave that pesky ten. That one pin has cost me more 300's, probably 25-30 (5 or more the last year alone). So ya, that pin is a pain for me more times than not, but I guess that's how the game goes. Heck, I don't know if I could take the pressure of getting 300's all the time like BigDawg70 does
.
