Continuing my practice sessions last night - mostly to keep in touch with the game, and I have a house tourney this Sunday - the house is a wood house, but no other houses in this area are wood, all synthetic types.

Threw No Mercy 4 games - no ball changes - pin over ring finger. 894 series - only 1 game 250, the rest in the low 200's. Not much oil on heads, stood right of center 5 boards, and tweened the 5 - 8, as long as the speed was up - it rolled nice, any reduction and yes threw the nose.

Well today I bowled in our monthly scratch tournament.
They were suppose to change the shot this month.
They said it was going to be tougher.
But I seen no difference in the shot .
I got the last check with 180 over for 5 games.
The leader was 245 over .
Some of the bowlers said it was tough for them
but I could see nothing different.
I used my ebonite one with the pin over my bridge and the mass at 1 ½ off the thumb.
It is drilled like my black widow pearl Layout.
I guess they are reintroducing the ebonite one bowling ball.
It was a inside kind of track area shot
You had to have slow speed.
And it had backends I had to cup my ball
and stay up the back of it.
Other wise I might leave a 10 pin.

posting bowling score

I have been posting my score in the score card. I still working on getting a 200. But my wife she got her 200 and me not. But I'll get my 500 or better as soon as I figure out how get my right leg to slow down. My prothsttic leg slides to easily.

I forgot to post my scores from last wednesday. The first game I didn't adjust because I was busy running my mouth with some of the ladies in the league. Once again, I started out using my Ebonite Puma. I didn't adjust at all in the first game and went 188. I didn't have a good look to the pocket on the left lane. The second game, I decided to open up the left lane. I continued to use my Puma on the right lane but I threw my Complete NV on the left lane and went 254. The last game was horrible! I started off with a double. The next 5 frames I burried the ball in the pocket and left different single pins. I even had the nerve to run by a 10-pin in the 10th frame. I ended the night with a 191. I'm still averaging a 216 although it didn't feel like it.

My second night on summer league was k. The first game was k a 130. That was with my antique ebonite matrix ball. The second game was with my hammer hawg which was a 158. Then the third game I bowled a 188 and that was with my buzzbomb. Now U might say that is good but I wear a prothstetic on my right leg and i'm still in the learning stages on how to bowl with this leg.

Week 1 PBA Experienced

Week one we bowled on Chameleon, it was supposed to be Cheetah. I started out rolling the Storm street rod and shot 211. The second game instead of moving I tried to use both the Black Widow and Black Widow Pearl, the pearl went brooklyn if kept inside of 12 and stayed if outside of 10. Needless to say I had a poor 123. The third game I moved my feet to 40 and changed back to the street rod pearl. I threw it out to 15 and it was right in the pocket for a 193. Not too bad for my first time out on the pro shots. I average 175 on the house shot and also averaged the same on the PBA.

Week 3. Tonight I only bowled with my complete nv. 220, 233, and 203. Once again I counldn't carry in the third game and split in the 10th. My average is 217.

Back to practicing - well I am back after a few days off. it feels alittle funny because I am use to bowling more than I have been lately. I will admit I struggled for the first 2 games with my black widow pearl - then I figured out that there was to much oil for the pearlized cover and changed to My game breaker. boy the early roll was the ticket. I had 9 in arrow after I got lined up and posting a 718 series. I believe that the conditions were not favorible for the pearl. I then thought I would try a hammer pain that I had the same great reaction. I believe the conditions just needed early roll.
the game breaker has the arcing layout. and the hammer pain has the earlly rolling layout . the thing is I have scored great with the pearl. I had a 745 with it last week but on a different pair of lanes.

Tues Tournament League

I was anything but consitant for the first night of our Tuesday night Tournament league. We normally bowl on 3 different patterns on this league. But being that this was the first night, and we hadn't voted on what patterns we would use, all the lanes were dressed with the Chameleon pattern. The way I started out, I thought I was going to have a great night. I had a 235 with an open frame. When we moved to the next set of lanes, I was still in the pocket, but it wasn't carrying. In addition to that, my spare game left in a hurry. My timing was all off, and I couldn't hit anything. I ended up bowling a 143 for my second game. After missing another spare in the first frame of my last game, I reverted back to my old style of spare shooting. I had changed from a hand shake release to keeping my had behind the ball with a broken wrist about 6 weeks ago. I went back to the hand shake release in the 2nd frame of the 3rd game, and I ended up only having 1 double the 3rd game for a 178. (I picked up a few more spares this time.) I will be focusing on my spare shooting this week during practice.

Tonight - PBA Experience started - Chameleon Pattern. Used No Mercy - too aggressive with no error on inside more than 12, outside would not recover more than 10. Spare shooting was missing right everytime I missed - 147. Switched to Tropical Storm, had great line, but would not recover outside (played 5 - 8). Even though I wanted to play 10 - 12 (same line as No Mercy). Somehow, I kept my mental game like a house shot, I released the ball great and had the rotation, but no back-end, which I knew - but got out 142 (a few splits and missed spares) Last game, got too fast tried direct 12-15 - did have 5 strikes, but inbetween missed spares. I know my directive next week - less aggresive ball, stay slow and hit the ball 10-12. Everytime I hit the pocket I did carry - the problem was hitting the pocket consistently. I didn't expect this type of shot out of the gate. But - I have gained experience and I learned for next week..

I Had 678 with my black widow pearl last night with 2 open frames.
I have been struggling with this ball lately.
I tryed it on a different pattern.
played a in the track area.
I had a much better reaction.
this is a good bowling ball but like all balls you had to use it on the right lane condition.

this ball with this drilling needs dry board somewhere.
it seems to be best suited for inside line or the track area.

Tournament Sport League

This week, we did have the 3 different patterns to shoot on (Chamleon, US Open and Nationals). Even though my series for this week was a little below last week, I felt like I bowled better (especially my spare game). I bowled on the Chameleon pattern the first game. After the first ball, I felt pretty confident that I was going to have a good game. Not to be. My ball wasn't hooking as much on the right lane. I ended up switching to a ball that hooks more with a little bit more speed. So I ended up rolling a diffent ball on each lane. After I made the adjustment, I was in the pocket. Too bad it took me until the 6th frame to make the adjustment. Once I found the pocket, I left 4 10 pins in arrow (I failed to pick up the 1st one). I ended up bowling a 169 on the Chameleon pattern for the 1st game.


The 2nd game was on the US Open pattern. I never found anything that seemed to work more than a couple of frames. I had a wash out and a couple of splits to go with one double for a 164. Even though the first 2 games were low scores, I was happier with my spare shooting (compared to last week). Other than the one 10 pin I missed in the first game, I didn't miss any other easy spares, and I was close to converting on my splits and wash outs.


The 3rd game was on the USBC National pattern, and I did much better. I was able to put a turkey together in the 3rd-5th frames, and I bowled a clean game for a 213. (The fact that it was a cleaned game is what pleased me the most about the last game.)

Tonight I went to practice at a different center.

this center has a brunswick pro avilane synthetic lane surface.

there was lots of carry down.

I think this was because there was lots of open bowling.

they had a really wet dry pattern out there.

I am a semi stroker.

well watch Steve Jaros Bowl and You are watching me.

I bowl very close to him.

I am not as good but thats how I bowl.

Anyway I used my raw hammer pain.

and a direct line from the 7 and 8 boards.

I posted scores of 193+259+247+236 for the 4 games.

I have trouble sometimes because I naturally want to belly the ball in the track area.
so squaring up to go more down and in is alittle difficult at first.

I only had 1 open and that was a 7 and 10 pocket split in the last game.

the raw hammer pain is a great ball the anger is suppose to be about the same but I don't have one of them.

Bowling Scores - Hammer Black Widow Pearl

I had games of 225+246+204=675 last night
I use abralon on the ball but I lose carry alot after the first 2 games.
not only with the pearl but with most balls.
Even though I have lots of bowling balls.
I don't like to change them after I get use to the feel of a ball.
I just keep think I can adjust out of the carry trouble.

Thursday Mens summer
Was throwing the NVS (4000 abralon) went 269-180-161=610
Teammate was using a emerald vibe 248-260-258=766 he had a 300 and a 796 last week with it.
