Anneke's tem tournament scores on 3-10-09 and regular league scores 3-12-09

This week I bowled twice.

On Tuesday my team bowled in tournaments.... I did horrible!!

My scores for Team Tournament night on March 10th were:

1st Game: 105
2nd Game: 120
3rd Game: 107

I bowled a 332 series and if it had counted, my average would have been a 110.

We were then back to our regular league night on Thursday, March 12th and I bowled a bit better. My scores for our regular league night were:

1st Game: 122
2nd Game: 129
3rd Game: 106

I bowled a 357 series and kept my 114 average.

I am also upgrading my bowling ball. I purchased a Tropical Storm ball. Is anyone familiar with them? If so, what can you tell me about them? The woman who helped me purchase it told me it would be better because it isn't plastic, like my previous balls have been.

Storm Tropical

Hi Anni, the Tropical storm ball is a step up from plastic for 2 reasons,

1) it has a reactive resin coverstock, this will allow the ball to grip the lane better and have some angular movement into the pins, providing you are rolling the ball and not skidding it to the pins. the polyester surface of a "plastic" ball will not allow much friction with the lane to allow much hook.
this is why better bowlers use two balls one for strikes and one that doesn't hook (Plastic) for spares

2) The plastic ball has a pancake style weight block, which only allows for minimal ball flip, the Tropical Storm has an asemetrical (Spelling?) weight block which will help the ball change directions.

but mostly as they say, it's not the arrow, it's the indian, keep practicing!

Week 25

I had a good night last Tuesday

259 233 224 716, used the Cell @ 2000 abralon all night, had a good reaction and didn't have to move too much at all.

only 6 more weeks to go this winter season, trying to get my average back to my 2 years ago book of 207, almost there...

Well had our City tournament this weekend teams on saturday, doubles & singles sunday.
Used my new ball the ebonite striking motion

Came in with a 193 ave. handcap was 100% of 220

Doesnt matter for a scratch bowler you (assuming league is 200 for this case and your average is 222) can average 250 and shoot 220 and your overage. You only get handicap based on 200 per person or 1000 as a team. If your averaging 220 your getting no handicap whether you shoot 200 (your capped average) all that 20 is, is a bonus. Was averaging 197 to start season first 6 weeks. Ball started falling off so bought a new on at half it had dropped to 187 its back up to 191 as of the end of tonight bought a Black Widow Bite and getting about 10 boards on heavy oil pattern. Which is helping. I bowl a scratch league.

My bowling scores today were 259+226+215 for a 700 series in my Friday morning bowling league.
1 had 2 open frames today one in the 2nd game and one in the 3rd. I missed a 10 in the 2nd game and rolled a bad shot for a 4, 6, 7 split in the 3rd. I went back to the twisted fury solid because I had carry and reaction troubles with my other equipment. I did have a 300 with my magic in a different center this past week though. In addition, I had a 2123 all events score in the city tournament. I used my hammer hawg and an ebonite infinite one in that event.

3/20 TGIF Couples League (Union,MO)


-193-209-190 = 592 Series, 81 game average 222.10

-proprietor decided to use his new lane machine tonight and also decided to lengthen the patter by 2 feet to 44 ft. No announcement was made of either item and it would've been easier to hook it on ice. The man is continually screwing with the shot and is just messing it up trying to make everyone happy.

Well this week was another low scoring week... I cannot wait for my new bowling ball to arrive.

-decided to try my Raw Hammer Acid as it's not seen a lot of playing time lately since I got my Sauce #2 and the Hot Sauce. worked out well.
