Remember to drink lots of H20, in addition to whatever else your drinking.
Summer is tough on bowling balls here, don't leave them in the car, I can't tell you how many I've cracked since moving here
Everybody keep us posted on your scores, maybe we should start a show us your nationals scores thread? If I don't die by Thursday, I'll be roarin' Friday night

Tournament this Saturday
Well, I'll have an early chance to check out the conditions at Cashman center during a pre Masters tournament tomorrow, I'll post my results, and my estimation of the lane conditions though I doubt it will be the USBC open condition. If I don't die by Thursday, I'll be roarin' Friday night

Well, I just got home from bowling 3 games on the Masters oil pattern at the Convention center...
I'm once again huumbled by the shot that they put out.
Game 1 Lanes 49-50, Roto Grip SD-73, I played inside, hitting about 15 at the arrows, swinging the ball out to around the 6-8 board at the targeting boards down lane. Had to be very accurate, inside that area would hook across the headpin, outside would not come back, and a I would be rewarded with a washout. opened in the 10th with a 3-10 split, ended this game with a 153.
Game 2, Lanes 1-2, this game I moved outside, playing straight up the 10 board, trying not to swing outside of 10 otherwise, no finish, flooded out there. changed balls and went to the Cell, again left a 3-10 in the 10th and missed, 160 this game.
Game 3 Lanes 13-14, stayed with the straight up 10 this game but went back to the SD-73 as it was hooking more on this pair, I finished out with a spare and strike in the 10th for a 164....
Uhhh, what a slap in the face with some tough conditions.
477 series, 159 average...and no I didn't stick around to see if I cashed.
I'm going to go to bed now and cry myself to sleep (Guess thats why I'm not on the tour)If I don't die by Thursday, I'll be roarin' Friday night

10 pins were not a big problem, I left a few, but not as many as I do normally in league play I did leave 1 pocket 7-10
.
I'll just chalk it up to experience, and continue to practice accuracy until Nationals in June, where hopefully I will cash.If I don't die by Thursday, I'll be roarin' Friday night

Just got back from the USBC in Vegas. They were tough, as usual. There was a shot straight up about 10 or 11, but there was definitely an out of bounds to the right of that. The carry was good, and as always corner pins were an interesting adventure. The 10 pin was a normal pickup, but the spares on the left were tricky with a late hook to them. The S & D they hooked more and by the end of doubles I had to switch to an inside line. By the 5th game they started hooking earlier and it was hard to stay off the nose.
At least we had a good time. We stayed at the Sahara and they treated us well.It was a quick 10 minute trip up Las vegas boulevard by cab. With 4 in the cab it was about $4 apiece tip included.

Lane Conditions - Difficult
Perhaps this shot should be the new house shot. Averages may go down but we will have true bowlers again. These oil patterns (as I just bowled on a similar if not the same pattern) are made to restrict scoring. Despite this, I figured out how to bowl on it after my first 2 humbling games and bowled a 188 3rd game in a tournment.
