BowlingTracker.com ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website located at https://bowlingtracker.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using this site you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

BowlingTracker.com is a free bowling statistics tracking service that has been operating since 1999. We are not affiliated with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) or any commercial bowling equipment manufacturer. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@bowlingtracker.com.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information received from affiliated forum sites (SSO)

BowlingTracker.com does not operate its own user-registration system. Instead, you sign in through an affiliated website (such as a bowling forum) that sends us a cryptographically signed token containing:

Your username on that affiliate site.
A stable, opaque numeric user ID from that affiliate site.
Which affiliate site you came from (the token issuer).

We do not receive your password, email address, real name, or any other personal details from the affiliate unless you choose to enter them yourself within BowlingTracker.com.

2b. Bowling statistics and profile data you enter

League name, season, bowler name, gender, and privacy setting.
Weekly game scores and the dates and lanes on which they were bowled.
Bowling center (name, city, state, country).
Arsenal entries: ball brand, model, and optional drilling/layout details.

2c. Automatically collected technical data

Session cookie — a temporary, server-side session identifier that holds your login state and the logo of your affiliate site. It expires when you close your browser or sign out.
Authentication cookie — a persistent, HTTP-only, Secure cookie that keeps you signed in across browser sessions. It is cleared when you sign out via the Sign Out link.
SSOAutoLoginLink cookie — an HTTP-only, Secure cookie that records which affiliate site link to offer you when you return or sign out. It is cleared when you sign out.
Standard web-server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). These are retained for up to 90 days for security and diagnostic purposes and are not linked to your bowling data.

3. How We Use Your Information

To display your bowling statistics, weekly highs, and public leaderboards.
To identify you across page requests within the same session.
To associate your stat sheets, scores, favorites, and arsenal entries with your account.
To allow other users to view stat sheets you have marked Public.
To calculate aggregate, anonymised leaderboards (Weekly High Games, High Series, Honor Rolls). These show only your bowler name and league name as you entered them.
To maintain site security and investigate abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Public vs. Private Data

Each stat sheet you create can be set to Public or Private.

Public stat sheets are visible to all visitors (including unauthenticated visitors) via the Public Profiles and Weekly Highs pages. They display your bowler name, league name, bowling center, and scores.
Private stat sheets are visible only to you when signed in.

You can change a stat sheet's privacy setting, archive it, or delete it at any time from the My Stats page.

5. Data Retention

Your bowling data is retained indefinitely so that your historical stats remain accessible. You can delete individual weeks of scores, or delete an entire stat sheet, at any time.
Your account record (username and affiliate site identifier) is retained as long as you have at least one stat sheet. If you delete all your data and wish your account record removed, contact us at privacy@bowlingtracker.com.
Web-server logs are purged after 90 days.

6. Cookies

We use only functional cookies necessary for the site to operate:

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics cookies.

7. Third-Party Services

Google Fonts — font files are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log your IP address when serving these files. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Affiliated forum sites — when you click a Sign In link from an affiliate, that site transmits a JWT to us as described in Section 2a. We are not responsible for data practices of those external sites.

We do not embed social-media buttons, advertising networks, or any other third-party tracking scripts.

8. Children's Privacy

BowlingTracker.com is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Correction — update inaccurate data (most data you can edit directly on the site).
Deletion — delete your scores, stat sheets, and account record.
Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@bowlingtracker.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Security

All traffic is served over HTTPS. Authentication cookies are marked Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Strict to mitigate common web-security risks. SSO tokens are signed with RSA-2048 and validated on every login. We do not store passwords.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
